The Jangles Quartet
Fine purveyors Hick Jazz! (Western Swing)
(SEE VIDEOS BELOW)
The Jangles Quartet is the little brother of the Jangles 7 piece Band. Western Swing Hall of Fame member, Mike Faast, founded the Jangles in the year 2000 with the intention of performing Western Swing in a concert setting with a small ensemble. However, the band evolved into a 7 piece Western Swing Dance Band that still performs today. (See Jangles dance band on the band tab) The Quartet is a throwback to the original concept.
Featuring National Flatpicking Champion and multi-instrumentalist Roger Ferguson on fiddle, mandolin and lead guitar, jazz and bluegrass master fiddler, Paul Elliot, Western Swing Hall of Fame member Mike Faast on vocals/guitar. Michael Eytcheson and Mick Nicolson both contribute to the Bass position depending on availability.
The Jangles Quartet are doing their part to continue the legacy of great American String Bands. If you love String Jazz, Western Swing, and Red Hot Pickin’ – then you don’t want to miss The Jangles Quartet!
Influences – Bob Wills, Milton Brown, Doc Watson, Bill Monroe, Johnny Gimble, Django Reinhardt, Hot Club of Cowtown, the Time Jumpers, and many others.
Western Swing is rooted in the family of American Country Music, the style is upbeat, features string instruments, and “Country-flavored” lyrical themes. It is suitable for both concert and dancing entertainment.
